SPECIAL ADVISORY ON SAFETY AND SECURITY

FOR PATIENTS, RELATIVES A AND VISITORS

Kindly read carefully the following helpful tips which will greatly assist and enhance hospital management’s efforts to properly secure the safety of personal possessions during confinement. Patient safety and security is always an important special concern of Sacred Heart Medical Center (SHMC).

*Please do not bring jewelries, similar valuable items and large amount of cash when confined. However, if you have in your possession any such items and large amount of cash upon admission, we strongly suggest that you send them home for safekeeping. You may also deposit the same at the hospital cashier’s office located at the lobby area in front of the admitting section of the hospital. The hospital cashier on duty upon acknowledgement of the same will issue an appropriate itemized receipt. The deposited item (s) and/or cash will be returned only to the depositor upon presentation of the issued receipt and proper identification.

*All payments for hospital or physicians bills (in cash, credit card or check) must be made directly to the hospital cashier located at the lobby of the hospital. It is not the policy of the hospital to send any agent or individual to collect payment of the patient’s hospital bills, elsewhere inside or outside of the hospital premises. Always demand for official receipt for payment of your hospital bills.

*Report immediately to nurses’ station or to the hospital security personnel (local 101) any suspicious individual or security-related matters. The hospital does not allow or authorize any commercial vendors, agents, solicitors, stand-by and beggars within its premises at anytime.

*Do not leave cellular mobile phone, bags, wallets, valuable and similar personal belongings unattended in the room or anywhere inside the hospital premises. The hospital management is not responsible for any loss or damaged of personal valuables and belongings.

*Always lock your room at all times especially when vacated for examinations, test or procedures elsewhere in the hospital. Keys for patients’ room are at the custody of the nurses’ station.

*Alcoholic beverages are not permitted inside the patients’ room.

*Firearms and similar lethal weapons are not permitted inside the patient’s room or within hospital premises. These must be deposited for safekeeping to the Hospital Security Officer or Guard on duty at the main entrance.
