The Chemotherapy Ambulatory Unit of Sacred Heart Medical center is located at the lower ground of the hospital. The said unit is one of the multidisciplinary oncologic management of the Cancer Institute which it aims to efficiently address the need for cancer care for patients in terms of compassion, convenience, affordability and alleviating their quality of life. The unit is handled by the Medical Oncology team that will offer an out-patient treatment for those patients requiring chemotherapy, an application of intravenous medicine systematically to eradicate and control persistent or residual cancer cells. Chemotherapy also helps prevent recurrence of early diagnosed diseases.
Chemotherapy Ambulatory Unit provides a comfortable, private setting for out-patient chemotherapy. It consist of a pediatric and an adult sections providing the needs of children and adult cancer patients. The unit also have their consultation room in both sections for follow-ups and assessments of patients. Furthermore, the unit has its own Isolation room that is being used for blood transfusion and other special medical procedures.
